I've only used the fish spy one once so far, the range only seemed to be about 30m using an iPad which was a bit disappointing , I'm hoping you will bring out a range extender for the iPad Air. The ring that is used to turn the device on/off seems very stiff and difficult to turn off after use, I'm hoping this will improve with use. Thanks for your feedback Paul. Unfortunately we have no plans at the moment to bring out a range extender case for that model. The range is far superior when using Android products, if you do have an Android phone or tablet we recommend using that for best range. Failing that standing higher up on the bank can help with the signal. The locking ring’s will loosen with time, but if yours persists in being stiff long-term please get in touch with us.

We understand that there is no connectivity underwater regarding wifi, frustrating how we have to reset the app when float appears at the surface to regain connection.
But a great device...it did bring us success as we are currently fishing B1 Linear Fisheries...
Thanks for your feedback! What you are describing are characteristics of FishSpy. Water blocks the WiFi signal, so it is impossible for it to transmit under the surface due to water being too dense. As you have found, when surfacing it is a simple case of re-connecting and reviewing your recorded footage whilst leaving in position. You can of course live stream at the surface without needing to re-connect should conditions be suitable. We are glad to hear you enjoyed success on Linear with the help of your FishSpy camera.

Seriously, if you're thinking of getting one just do it. Start fishing more quickly because you immediately know if you're fishing in the right areas. I've had no issues with distance for the wifi, if you are in deep water and have to record and wind down closer to the bottom it connects back to your device straight away when you pop it back up. and then play back the recording. Forget leading around and hoping, get one of these.Fantastic, great to hear you are as impressed with the FishSpy as we are.

I think its a great idea, it's made well and looks good.i was a bit disappointed with the fact that as soon as you lower it below the surface you loose signal. from watching the videos and it saying stream live to your phone I thought you would have picture all the time . Also the fact it don't work with iPhones properly .Many thanks for your feedback! Live feed underwater video footage is possible when the FishSpy is positioned at the surface looking down. We have made it abundantly clear that WiFi signal is lost once submerged – water is too dense to allow WiFi signal to transmit. We mention this in the product write up, and it is also on the FishSpy website: ‘’Once submerged, FishSpy will lose its Wi-fi connection to your device but recording continues; it's quick and easy to reconnect FishSpy to your device and play the footage back when the FishSpy resurfaces. ‘’ The FishSpy works well on iPhones, but as we have always stated Android phones and tablets have a better range and operating software; although we do stock range extender cases for iPhones. We hope you have many happy hours with your FishSpy, and go on to discover interesting underwater secrets on your lake. Best regards, the FishSpy team.

This is the worst Fishing kit i bought in my life will not recommend it!
This item is not worth all that money! What a waste
I am sorry, and surprised, to hear these comments. The Fishspy has been universally praised and I am sure that there is something we can do to improve your fishspy experience. I notice you are having issues with the range extender as well, and I have no doubt that this is simply a technical issue that we can easily fix. We will be in touch shortly to resolve this, and restore your faith in Fishspy.

A very expensive camera with minimal functional control. Staggeringly the battery cannot be replaced so becomes junk when battery dies. Damage to the flight could cause water ingress to the unprotected usb port. I could not find a function that would change the date on the recorded files. I'll wait for the mark II version.Thank you for your valued comments. I would like to address your concerns below:-

Battery life – With average use the battery has a minimum of 5 years life expectancy, where it will perform at 100% capacity. After years of repeated re-charging the battery life will diminish slightly, but will still supply 85-90% of its original capacity.

Water ingress – We have tested the FishSpy in the most challenging conditions and environments for over 2 years to ensure that all aspects of the FishSpy will exceed the demands placed on it in a fishing situation. The materials that the flights, and seal are made from will ensure the chances of damage are highly unlikely. The internal board of the FishSpy has been sealed so that in the very unlikely event of water ingress due to component failure or damage the FishSpy should still function without problem.

Date change – The actual date that the recorded files are made will be the date displayed.

If you have any further questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Too early to conclude yet but so far, very pleased with the fish spy. I do find the locking ring to be extremely tight to unlock however, especially in the cold. This does not detract from the enlightening possibilities of the Fish spy which i wil be exploring fully over the coming weeks. Thanks for your feedback! We are sure you will be delighted with your FishSpy camera. Very occasionally when fresh from the factory the locking rings can be a little stiff, but they should loosen up with time. We hope you will be able to get out and try it in warmer and drier conditions soon.

Very good under water camera. The only problem I had was switching it off could do with some ribs on the side for gripThank you for the feedback. We are delighted to hear that you are happy with the fishSpy, and I trust it has improved your fishing experience. This slight issue you have had with gripping a wet fishspy is not something that has come up prior to this, but we will of course look into your comments for future development.

Pictures quality superb however WiFi signal was poor once cast further than 50 yardsGreat to hear you are so pleased with the picture quality but you certainly shouldn't be receiving WiFi difficulties at this range. I will arrange for one of our Fish Spy experts to contact you to check your set up.

But one needs a very strong grip to turn it on and off, I just hope it will loosen with ware also the lack of how to rig it didn't help, saying rig it the same as a marker float only helps if you have ever used a marker float, looking forward to the lighter days to give it a good test, can't wait. The FishSpy locking ring is designed to be tight fitting to allow for long term wear, and to cope with the impact of hitting the water’s surface over many years. It will loosen up slightly with use. The printed Instructions included a rigging diagram, which can also be also be found on the instruction leaflet download: http://www.fishspy.com/support If you have any further technical queries or need advice on using FishSpy please feel free to drop us an email at info@fishspy.com

So far I'm not impressed. I'm going to try it again with better light conditions. The signal is very poor with my iPhone. I was impressed with the quality of the video of the bottom of the lake. Even in cloudy water it picks it out well when you wind it down and record. Distance casting with it was easy. Can’t wait untill the weather gets better and I can get out on the water again with it. Watching some of the videos really helps!!Great to hear you are happy with both the product and service. Thank you for your comments.

Keeps losing wifi signal and freezingThank you for your feedback. When casting a FishSpy, the signal will be lost, due to speed it travels through the air and from impacting the water. It is just a case of reconnecting with the camera once it has settled in the water. You may need to allow a few moments for it to re-connect, depending on conditions. For more information on this please visit www.fishspy.com where there are several tutorial videos, blog posts and also a very useful FAQ page: http://www.fishspy.com/support. Should this not be of help, we can arrange a technical advisor to call you and talk you through it.
